45# is a grade of steel, a high-quality carbon structural steel, corresponding to Japanese standard S45C, American standard: 1045, and German standard C45. Its characteristic is that it has higher strength and resistance to deformation than ordinary A3 steel.

It is a high-strength medium-carbon high-quality steel. Because of its poor hardenability, it is generally used in a normalized state. When the mechanical properties are required, it is quenched and tempered. The cold deformation has medium plasticity, and the cutting workability of annealing and normalizing is better than quenched and tempered.

Used to manufacture parts with high strength requirements, such as gears, shafts, piston pins, etc. and machined parts, forgings, stamping parts and bolts, nuts, and pipe connections that are not very stressed.
