Self-Lubricating or Maintenance-Free Designs:

In mechanisms where regular maintenance is hard, plain bush bearings can be made of self-lubricating materials (like sintered bronze or polymers filled with lubricants).


Corrosive or Dirty Environments:

Unlike rolling bearings, plain bush bearings can tolerate dust, dirt, and chemicals better.
