Application
(1) ferrosilicon is an indispensable deoxidizer in steelmaking industry. In steelmaking, ferrosilicon is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusion deoxidation. Brick iron is also used as an alloying agent in steel-making.
(2) used as inoculant and nodulizer in cast iron industry. 75 ferrosilicon is an important inoculant and nodularizing agent in theproduction of ductile iron.
(3) use as reductant in ferroalloy production. Not only is there a large chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen, but ferrosilicon is low in carbon. Therefore, high silicon ferrosilicon (or siliceous alloy) is a kind of reductant commonly used in the production of low carbon ferroalloy in ferroalloy industry.
(4)75 ferrosilicon is commonly used in the high temperature smelting of metallic magnesium in the pidgeon process. When magnesium in Mgo is replaced, about 1.2 tons of ferrosilicon is consumed for every ton of magnesium produced, which plays an important role in magnesium production.
(5) other uses. Ground or atomized ferrosilicon powder can be used as suspension phase in mineral processing industry.
(6) in the welding rod manufacturing industry can be used as welding rod coating. High silicon ferrosilicon can be used in the manufacture of silicone and other products in the chemical industry.
